Blodig Alvor (which translates to Bloody Serious) are a Norwegian rock and roll band with a punk twist. They have just released their latest album 'Mørkets Frembrudd' which according my Norwegian to English translator means 'Dark'. How accurate this is I don't know but we will roll with it anyway!

The vocals on the album are all in the bands native tongue. Singing about aspects of societies darkened valleys the band have told us the reason for singing in Norwegian is because they are wanting to send a very clear and direct message.

The first track on the album is the title track 'Mørkets Frembrudd' and serves as an instrumental introduction which leads us onto 'Mr Molotov' which has a really nice catchy feel to it.

'Start En Revolisjon' is next up and has the sort of guitar riffs that you just want to play along with. The next song is called 'Blodig Alvor' and has a classic punk feel to it that makes you want to start a pit in your living room (although this is not recommended as you might break something important like the TV). The whole album flows seamlessly from one track to the next and before you know it you are at the end of the album reaching for the play button again.

As a whole, it seems that Norway are producing some fine bands such as Kvelertak, Man The Machetes, Blood Command, Oslo Ess and now Blodig Alvor.

This album although it is good it unfortunately provides us with nothing new. It is however certainly worth spending your money on.
