Treasoner – Whispers In The Sky – Trains – Lost Where It All Started

Treasoner – Whispers In The Sky – Trains – Lost Where It All Started

13th February 2016 0 By Suzie Rottencrotch

Last year, I reviewed The Black Day – the impressive debut album by Mumbai based musician Treasoner – saying “…The music is atmospheric, ambient, uplifting, and thought provoking.  This is a powerful and moving album, and listening to it leaves you feeling like you’ve experienced something special…” – So I was thrilled when I heard that Treasoner was releasing 3 new singles!

First off is a re-recorded version of ‘Whispers In The Sky‘ that originally appeared on The Black Day album.  This is a simply beautiful track that starts off sounding melancholic but finishes off as an uplifting and life affirming riff based number.

Next is an impressive cover version of Porcupine Tree‘s ‘Trains‘ that features Sarah Carr on vocals.  I’m a huge Porcupine Tree fan, and it’s great to hear such a well executed version of the track that, while retaining the original vibe, manages to add something different to the mix.

Finally, new track ‘Lost Where It All Started‘, carries on where ‘Whispers In The Sky‘ left off, with some hauntingly wonderful acoustic guitar work, soaring riffs and melodies, and a wonderful use of ambient soundscapes.

These are 3 awesome singles from an incredibly talented young musician who is continuing to create some amazing music – if you’re a fan of guitar based instrumental music, or of prog-metal, then you have to check these out – all 3 tracks are available to purchase now from Treasoner‘s official Bandcamp page – check out the link below !
