Half of a billion streaming, Swedish top rock export Smash Into Pieces release ‘Freight Train’ from their upcoming album ‘DISCONNECT’.

Confirmed for more than 60 live shows in 2022 (amongst others Graspop, Pinkpop and the two major tours: ‘Horizons’ in the US with Starset and the ‘Worlds collide tour’ in the EU with Within Temptation and Evanescence.

The Swedish cinematic rock outfit, Aka; SMASH, have since the release of their third album ‘Rise And Shine’ established a unique brand. Being part of the force surrounding the group since the beginning, their mystical leader and Superhero drummer ‘Apoc’ first appeared in the booklet of the debut album ‘Unbreakable’ but came to life during the release of their third album.

Recognized not only for their futuristic / apocalyptic image they are for their creation of a cinematic mini series playing out inside a parallel virtual reality, referred to as the ‘ARCADIA WORLD’. Their cinematic series combined with their arena ambitious choruses and mystical live performances is what embodies SMASH! 

 

Blending modern rock with electronic elements supported by the great vocal range of the lead singer ‘Chris Adam’ gives the listener an arena sounding experience not easily forgettable. As one reviewer described their most recent London show; – “experiencing SMASH live is just like being caught up in the middle of a digital cybertronic circus, listening to the whole crowd singing along just as if they’d been hypnotized”.  

 

Passing half a billion combined streams & views and being confirmed for more than 60 live shows in 2022 on 2 continents (amongst others the ‘Horizons Tour’ (US) Supporting Starset and the ‘Worlds Collide Tour’ (EU) Supporting Evanescence and Within Temptation). 

The 9th of September 2022 SMASH released their seventh studio album “Disconnect”. It became a darker, rawer, and more powerful version of SMASH with a message about listening to the inner voice of yours, and disconnect from the virtual reality you’ve been absorbed in. Disconnect definitely owes its legacy to the ARCADIA Era.

At the release day they took a step back, look themself in the mirror and thought about what they are doing with their time. Are we spending it on something we love doing? If not, STOP! It was time to Disconnect and shot down. 

 

Heading towards 2023.

The Disconnect period lasted for over a month before they Reconnected. A new era was born, launch of Patreon, new tours and many other things SMASH are back stronger than ever. A new chapter will come and the first single “Sleepwalking” is out in November followed by a new album release in fall 2023. Confirmed for a big TV show in February and massive touring in EU and USA, the year 2023 will be huge.
