CELLAR DARLING – announce UK/EU tour dates for October 2023
6th July 2023Folk prog trio CELLAR DARLING have revealed details of a run of headline shows throughout the UK and Europe for this October. Support for all shows will come from IAMTHEMORNING and MAER.
The band comments “After the incredible shows we got to share with our fans in the UK and North America at the end of last year, it was time for us to retreat and write new music — and yes, we’ll soon share more on how that is going. But in the meantime, we just can’t sit still! So we decided to fulfil a wish we had for some time and invited the incredible Iamthemorning to share the stage with us for a series of very special autumn evenings. And it just so happens that our very own Anna Murphy has recently released a collaboration with Iamthemorning’s Marjana Semkina in the form of the dark folk/chamber prog project Maer, who will be making an exclusive appearance as well. It’ll be magical and we can’t wait to see you all there!”

CELLAR DARLING‘s last release was 2021’s folk prog symphony ‘Dance’, an equally courageous and visionary eleven-minute tale inspired by the mysterious dancing plague of 1518.

CELLAR DARLING‘s sophomore record The Spell was released in 2019. The record carries one away into the tale of an unnamed girl. Born into a world full of pain, damaged and debilitated by the human beings that inhabit it, we follow her as she searches for meaning in life when suddenly she meets and falls in love with death. This haunting concept album sees the band taking a turn towards heavy progressive rock while still not neglecting their folk roots.
Romanian artist Costin Chioreanu created enchanting videos for many of the album tracks, including a video for ‘Insomnia‘ which won ‘Video Of The Year‘ at the 2019 Prog Awards.
