Ben Brookes Belcher Drops new single called « Crack In The Road

Originally from Charleston, West Virginia, Ben Brookes Belcher grew up in the kind of rural, middle-class environment where country, folk and blues were born out of. You can feel the spirit of the classics in his music, from Mark Knopfler and Merle Haggard to Neil Young and The Beatles.

From the first time he heard Chet Atkins his fate was sealed; spellbound, he would spend hours upon hours trying to emulate that sound. With no musical education other than that given to him by his father and his musician friends, this turned out to be his most rewarding training, and during this time he learned not only technical skills but also developed his own distinctive style.

As he spent the next couple of decades on the road, he matured as both writer and musician, sharing stages with dozens of artists including Charlie Daniels, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Suzy Boggess, Little Texas, Dan Seals, Marshall Tucker, Molly Hatchet, Mel Tillis, Steve Wariner and many others. Despite the critical acclaim that he found touring as frontman of Hank Laww, playing alongside Tony Cottrell under the direction of Bill Halverson (of Crosby Stills Nash Young and Eric Clapton fame), Ben eventually decided it was time to set out on his own.
