Danish post-hardcore trio THE DARKEST MOMENT to release new album 12th January 2024
3rd January 2024Danish post-hardcore trio THE DARKEST MOMENT delivers a new take on the modern sound brought forth by bands such as Bad Omens, Dayseeker, and Sleep Token. With hard-hitting, emotionally driven melodies and soaring choruses, accompanied by low-tuned instruments and expansive orchestral pieces, the trio is now gearing up for the release of their brand new EP âLove & Lossâ:
âThe EP was created around the concept of the loss of a loved one, which we wanted to portray from the perspective of the remaining partner of a lost relationship. The lyrics are incredibly deep and at times depressing, but with glimpses of uplifting messages and instrumentals, to bring the point across that there is always a positive on the other side of the struggle. It goes through the various stages of grief that one would experience in such a loss, and the videos that accompany the songs all attempt to portray the same. Musically we decided to try something new and open up our horizons a bit more than previously. We feel like we really captured our new sound and hope to continue building on this darker, but also more expansive chapterâ, the band explains. Since forming in late 2016, the trio has released a debut EP âMidnightâ (2018), and their debut full-length album âThe Darkest Momentâ (2019), including the single âReality Stallingâ which gained more than 650k streams across platforms, later followed by the full-length album âBlindsightâ in 2021. In 2022 the band started writing and recording the new concept EP – themed around the loss of a loved one and the feelings that such a traumatic experience arises. Exploring these more sensitive subjects has brought a much more deep, dark, yet beautiful twist to the band’s original sound, both lyrically and instrumentally. Produced, mixed, and mastered by Timo Bonner (Our Mirage and Alleviate), THE DARKEST MOMENT is looking forward to presenting their new EP âLove & Lossâ, set to be released on January 12th through Prime Collective.
