DEFECTS Announce UK & European Tour With Of Mice & Men

4th September 2023 0 By Jon Deaux

Defects are exploding into late 2023 with a quadruple announcement. They will be joining US metalcore outfit Of Mice & Men on a 19-date tour through November and December, calling through Germany, France, the Netherlands, and the UK, and they will also be joining Funeral For A Friend as special guests at the 20 Years of Casually Dressed and Deep In Conversation album anniversary show at the O2 Academy, Birmingham on 11 October. They have also signed deals with Mascot Records, United Talent Agency, and Raw Power Management and have been working on their debut album.

Tony Maue [Vocals], Luke Genders [Guitar], James Threadwell [Guitar], Harry Jennings [Drums] and David Silver [Bass] burst out of the gates last year when they supported Swedish metallers In Flames on their UK March tour. They then opened for Bullet for My Valentine and steamrolled through the festivals with crushing sets at The Great Escape, Download, 2000 Trees, Bloodstock and Primordial General Mayhem. They wrapped up the year by taking on their first headline tour of the UK and dropping their debut EP ‘Dream Awake’ – featuring the videos for Dream AwakeEnd of Days and Scapegoat – to give you a taste of the sonic assault that is to come.

Talking about joining Of Mice & Men on tour, they say, “We are hugely thankful to the guys in Of Mice & Men for the continued support and the amazing opportunity to follow them around Europe for the first time and in the UK. Growing up listening to this band and now sharing a stage with them is truly an honour, and we can’t wait to show everyone what we can do.”

The band has also signed deals with a heavyweight team of Raw Power Management (Bullet for My Valentine, Bring Me The Horizon, Don Broco), United Talent Agency (Architects, Baby Metal, Nova Twins) and Mascot Records (VOLA, Dragged Under, Conquer Divide, Oxymorrons) to work on their debut album. Talking about penning the deals, they say, “Knowing that you have people with amazing, combined experience around you and believing in you really does make all the blood, sweat, and tears worth it when you’re trying to build a new band. We are incredibly excited for the future, and we couldn’t be in better hands.”

Raw Power’s CEO Craig Jennings adds, “We are delighted to add Defects to our Raw Power family. One of the most exciting and visceral new UK metal bands in what is a burgeoning scene. Signing to such a legendary label as Mascot and going out with rock legends Of Mice and Men is the perfect way to launch into our debut album campaign.”
