Elles Bailey Releases New Single & Video — ‘Spinning Stopped’
24th February 2023‘Spinning Stopped’ is the second single taken from Elles Bailey’s Deluxe Edition of her chart-topping album ‘Shining in the Half Light’.
Amongst all the songs Elles has written, this has proved to be one of her favourites. The track was co-written with Ed Blunt. As she herself describes it: “’ Spinning Stopped’ is an intimate reflection that focuses not only on the life-changing emotions of becoming a mother but also bringing life into this crazy, beautiful, messed up world during a pandemic.” The track was co-produced by Elles Bailey, Peter Miles and Elles’ touring band: Joe Wilkins on Guitar, Jonny Henderson on Ivories, Matthew Waer on Bass duties and Matthew Jones on drums.
To an artist without the creative energy and laser-focused determination of Elles Bailey, it could all have been very different. But when you’re one the hardest-working women in blues, rock and roots, not even the tumultuous world events of the past few years can stop you from writing several new chapters in a remarkable story.
Spring 2023 finally sees Elles able to undertake a full UK headline tour of ‘Shining in the Half Light’ to coincide with a deluxe release of the album, play exclusive co-headline shows with Chantel McGregor and headline Winter’s End Festival alongside Kris Barras Band and the Von Hertzen Brothers. She’s also heading out to Germany to open for roots rockers Kitty, Daisy & Lewis in April 2023.
Summer will see her play slots alongside Bonnie Raitt at Black Deer Festival. The main stage at the brand-new Maid of Stone fest, alongside Airborne, and headlining festivals in Europe. Miss Bailey really does call the road home & when she arrives near you, don’t think twice, get there. A great evening and a long musical friendship will be waiting.
The chilled black and white video for ‘Spinning Stopped’, directed by multi-talented Kriss Barras, shows the track being recorded live to tape at Middle Farm Studios in Devon in the U.K. Elles’ pure, distinctive vocals take centre stage, accompanied by Joe Wilkins’s deft, nuanced guitar work and the rest of her talented band.
