Exclusive Residential Retreats for guitarists and singers
18th May 2022After 26 years of living all over Europe and USA, we are happy to invite a maximum of five – 5 – participants to each of our exclusive, residential retreats, set in the stunningly beautiful are of Valdres, in the heart of our native country, Norway. Accommodation and three meals a day is included in the package.
Each of the retreats will last for one week, with an exciting program packed with both 1:1 lessons and group sessions, every day.
Internationally acclaimed virtuoso guitarist, singer, songwriter Berit, aka “The Commander In Chief,” has had great success in three genres, with viral videos, and a number 1 album – charting in 26 countries. She has been featured in Guitar World three times the last year.
In addition to being one of the leading guitar virtuosos in the world, she was trained in old school Bel Canto singing technique by her opera singer mom, Aina Hilltout.
For two seasons she has been a vocal coach and expert judge on Norway’s biggest TV show; “Battle of the Stars,” where 10 platinum selling singers are competing to be the ultimate star. The show has almost a million viewers.
Berit will host two – 2 – Guitar Residential Retreat this summer:
Aina Hilltout has been her daughter’s manager, vocal coach and video producer for 13 years, with great success..
She was trained as a professional opera singer in old school Bel Canto technique by the award winning Italian soprano Aida Meneghelli, who had the same singing teacher as the iconic Maria Callas – Elvira De Hidalgo.
Callas said this about their singing teacher:
“Hidalgo had the real great training, maybe even the last great training of the real Bel Canto.” (Maria Callas in conversation with Lord Harewood, 1968).
When Aina’s career was starting to take off, with a lot of press and a manager in New York, her family situation as a mother with two very young children made it impossible to continue travelling and performing, due to the health of one of the children. She stopped performing and dedicated her life to helping other talented people, as a manger and coach.
She has extensive experience as a Bel Canto coach and has created an easy to follow, comprehensive online Bel Canto course.
