Ferocious Dog release first new single, Sus Laws, and video from their forthcoming brand new album.
26th February 2024Ferocious Dog proudly releases their brand single ‘Sus Laws‘, on Graphite Records.
Sus Laws is fuelled by lightning-fast violin riffs in true Ferocious Dog style and were chosen as the first single from their forthcoming new studio album, ‘Kleptocracy’, as it encapsulates the unyielding spirit of resistance against oppression, the theme of the album. Plus, the chorus is a banger to sing along with.
“I got the inspiration from the classic Linton Kwesi Johnson song ‘Sonny’s Lettah’ and the discrimination shown to people invited to the UK for work, where it was the norm to state No Blacks, No Dogs, No Irish.
I see hate and division raising its ugly head again in the UK since the Brexit vote, which is condoned by this far-right government and police laws being changed to assist in discrimination. A good friend of mine gave me a T-shirt for my birthday with the writing on it MORE BLACKS MORE DOGS MORE IRISH and after I’d thanked him I said “I’m going to write a song with these lyrics in” and the rest is history as they say.” – Ken, Ferocious Dog Ferocious Dog’s new album ‘Kleptocracy’, is released on 17 May; Along with the single, Sus Laws, the album features a further 11 songs and will be available on CD, Deluxe CD (with 4 bonus songs), transparent red vinyl (exclusive from the band’s website), clear vinyl and all digital platforms.

To name a few of the influences that appear: Celtic folk, gypsy folk, blues, dissident folk, pop punk, full-on hardcore punk, and straight-up rock. Kleptocracy is the follow-up to The Hope which debuted at Number One on the Official UK & Ireland Folk Album Charts and entered the National Album charts at Number 31.
With righteous anger and a brand new line-up, Ferocious Dog “didn’t want this album to sound just like The Hope or previous albums, we wanted to put our own stamp on it. So even though this album has the same undercurrent as all Ferocious Dog albums, it is faster, more rocky and a closer reflection of our live shows. It has been a great venture all working together on this album amidst all the shows and tours.”

The Kleptocracy tour starts on May 17th at the legendary 100 Club in London, includes the Nottingham Rock City on 18th May, before concluding at the Blackpool Tower on 9th June.
