German metal Eurovision Song Contest contenders Lord Of The Lost perform for King Charles III & Camilla, Queen Consort
3rd April 2023German metal Eurovision Song Contest contenders Lord Of The Lost performed for King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort, on Friday 31st March. The band was at a welcoming ceremony at the British embassy in Hamburg during the King’s first state visit to Germany, where they also met the Royals to personally welcome them to the country.
Lord Of The Lost will compete at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest – the biggest music contest in the world – with their single ‘Blood & Glitter’, held in Liverpool on 13th May.
On meeting King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort, the band commented: “Who can say that he got tips on the Eurovision Song Contest from the King himself? Probably very few. It was a great honor for us to welcome Charles & Camilla. The anticipation for the ESC final is growing every day, and with today’s encounter it’s even more of a pleasure for us to bring back to Liverpool a little bit of what the Beatles brought us back to Hamburg St. Pauli.”Lord Of The Lost will bring a flamboyant party of glam rock and metal to the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 when they represent Germany in Liverpool with the title track of their current #1 album (Germany) Blood & Glitter. The band by far received the most votes in Germany preliminary shows, which showcased many different musical genres.
In 2023 has already been a huge year for German genre-fusing visionaries Lord Of The Lost. The year began with their first ever #1 debut on the German Official German Album Charts with their new album, Blood & Glitter, followed by a completely sold-out club tour throughout Germany, and will support Iron Maiden on their upcoming European tour. Lord Of The Lost will also appear at several major festivals throughout Europe through the rest of the year.
Lord Of The Lost will support Powerwolf at three huge shows in Germany. Dates as follows:

When conjuring the concept of Blood & Glitter, the band was inspired by the eponymous work of legendary music photographer Mick Rock, known for taking a large majority of the most famous photos of musicians in the 70s glam rock era. Lord Of The Lost visually immerse themselves in the lifestyle of that era and combine it with the new wave and pop sound of the 80s, building on their own familiar dark metal foundation. The result: a glamorous party with critical and direct messages.
