Head Out to The ‘Wild Wild West’ With Elles Bailey!
9th October 2020Multi-award-winning, Elles Bailey is releasing a new single: The Modern World Studios version of ‘Wild Wild West’; also, a live studio recording video of the ‘Wild Wild West MWS Sessions’. What’s more — as a passionate, committed live tourer and performer — Elles is also delighted to announce several COVID-secure, live dates: both duo and full-band gigs.

This year, Elles won UK Song of the Year for ‘Little Piece of Heaven’ at The 2020 UK Americana Awards, then went on to win not just one, but two, of the prestigious UKBlues Awards, awarded by The UKBlues Federation. The Federation awarded Elles Blues Album of the Year — for her superb sophomore album ‘Road I Call Home’ — also the high accolade of Blues Artist of the Year.
Reflecting on her new single, Elles says, “For me, this version of ‘Wild Wild West’ — and the whole record ‘Blacktop Companion’ — marks the continuation of the epic ‘Road I Call Home’ adventure that I have travelled for the last couple of years! It also tells a lot more of the story! “It’s been a tough few months for so many,” she adds, “and like so many, my whole year, that was perfectly planned out, fell apart overnight. Instead, I have spent many nights reflecting, looking at my photos, watching back old stage vidoes and being reminded of how lucky I have been to have been able to tread this path and to work with the people I have done, especially my incredible live band, with whom I have had the pleasure of touring. I am so grateful for their talents, humour, and for just being wonderful human beings – this version of Wild Wild West really highlights their talents!”
‘Wild Wild West’ was written by Elles Bailey, Billy Smiley, and Caitlin Rushing. This version of the track, recorded at Modern World Studios, hails from ‘Blacktop Companion’: the special companion CD-only release, which accompanies Elles’ much-acclaimed, award-winning sophomore album ‘Road I Call Home’.
The Modern World Studios (MWS) version of ‘Wild Wild West’ from ‘Blacktop Companion’ drops today – 9th October WORLDWIDE and is available on all media platforms now.
Outside of the studio, like many artists, most of Elles’ scheduled tour dates have had to be postponed until 2021, including almost all of her previously-scheduled Autumn 2020 full-band, headline tour. She has, however, just announced 3 COVID-secure Duo Shows AND 3 COVID-secure Full Band Shows for October/November 2020.
Two previously scheduled full-band gigs will go ahead (having been rearranged to ensure they are COVID-secure); plus, one new date has been added.
The Crawley gig, at The Hawth, (25th October 2020) has been moved from the studio room to the main theatre making it COVID Secure and socially-distanced, with very few tickets remaining.
The Southampton date, at 1865, has been moved forward from the 28th October 2020 to the 26th October 2020 and all tickets already purchased will still be valid.
The Bourne Music Club has also scheduled a date at The Appleyard in Sittingbourne, Kent with Elles and the band on the 14th November 2020 and that sold out in 24 hours!
Elles’ Live Band are: Joe Wilkins (Guitar and Backing Vocals); Matthew Waar (Bass and Backing Vocals); Jonny Henderson (Organ and Backing Vocals); and Matthew Jones (Drums and Backing Vocals).
What’s more, for November, Elles has announced 3 new COVID-secure live duo gigs (with her band guitarist Joe Wilkins).
“You have no idea how excited I am to announce these 3 IN REAL LIFE. super special, socially-distanced duo shows featuring Joe Wilkins on guitar,” says Elles, with glee. “Tickets are of course VERY limited making these super intimate shows! It’s gonna be WONDERFUL and I cannot wait to see you guys !!!”

5th November – The David Evans Court Theatre, Tring
6th November – Cottingham Civic Centre (low ticket warning)
