Her 2nd 3rd & 4th singles ‘Drag me Back In’, Take Me Back Home” and “SOLO” followed suit and have been getting well-deserved radio play & earned huge praise from BBC Radio Wales after all being added to the BBC Welsh A-LIST as well as airplay on Planet Rock, Chris Country Radio & Country Hits Radio. Laura has had huge success and support from Spotify after being added to several of their editorial playlists, including ‘Nu-Blue’ curated by Heidi Shenk, alongside US artists like Larkin Poe and Dave Stewart ‘Very Nearly Nashville’ and Apple Music’s ‘New In Country’ playlist alongside Taylor Swift & Eric Church.
Laura Co-wrote ‘Mess Of Me’ with critically acclaimed singer songwriter Jenn Bostic. “I was on a writing trip in Nashville last October. Jenn was my first writing session of the week. We met on a Monday morning. I had a few rough lyric and melody ideas. When Jenn sat down at the piano we just jammed and really gelled, we poured our hearts out. We started at 10am and the song was finished by 12pm, it was just a magical writing session full of gospel and soulful vibes”
“All my latest singles have been empowering upbeat songs, but this song definitely shows my more vulnerable side. I recorded it at Momentum studios with producer Josiah J Manning. We decided to record it LIVE in one take with Josiah on the beautiful grand piano, we then added in some harmonies later. I’m so glad we recorded it this way. It definitely brought out the depth & heart breaking emotion of the song”
“This young lady has an amazing voice, the proof of this is on “Mess of Me” this is a vehicle that gives her soulful power room to breathe. A powerful, memorable song and a rich rewarding listen”
Pete Clack, BLUES IN BRITAIN
“Mess Of Me” conveys some dark emotions, built around its piano lick, it has the suggestion of Heart in about 1986 – but never quite goes full on power ballad. Frankly, though, Evans could sing anything she liked and it’d sound superb.”
