MÖTLEY CRÜE – ‘Crücial Crüe’ Box Set – 5 CD Boxset Review
12th January 2023Does the world really need ANOTHER Mötley Crüe box set? The answer is a simple NO.
Although as the title suggests, this is ‘Crücial Crüe’ as it’s their 1st 5 albums (Too Fast For Love, Shout At The Devil, Theatre Of Pain, Girls, Girls, Girls, Dr. Feelgood.) However, if you’re a fan of Crüe you’ll already have these, especially as the albums have absolutely no bonus tracks unlike the previous remaster CDs from a few years back.
It would’ve been nice if the original Leathür Records mix of Too Fast For Love was included instead of the Elektra version, but that’s just a gripe.
Sadly, this just feels like a cash grab on the back of the recent stadium tour with Poison and Def Leppard and of course the Netflix movie The Dirt. All 5 of these albums have truly stood the test of time and it’s no wonder why they’re all platinum sellers (back when record sales meant something) as the music is fabulous.
The box is sturdy, the CDs are in digipak sleeves with replica artwork and of course, there’s the booklet with lyrics and original sleeve notes within each digipak.
Sadly there’s nothing new apart from the packaging.
Score 5/10
