5th June 2023 0 By Jon Deaux
The award-winning RADAR Festival – has announced its masterclass schedule for the 2023 edition.

Giving masterclasses this year are: Manuel Gardner Fernandes of Unprocessed (1pm, 28th July), Olly Steele (3pm, 28th July), Periphery (1pm, Full Band Masterclass and Q&A, 29th July), John Brown and Mike Malyan of Monuments (3pm, 29th July). All masterclasses are to be hosted by Kaan Tasan of Heart of a Coward – your chance to learn theory, techniques, and stories from some of the best musicians in progressive rock and metal today. Whether you’re looking to improve your playing, writing, or understanding of gear – there is something for everyone who wants to improve their musicianship. Not to be missed.

RADAR has also teamed up with the Musicians’ Union to offer a free masterclass with a focus on helping artists (3pm, 30th July). So, whether you are attending RADAR as a customer or an artist: this is for you!

All masterclasses will be held at O2 Victoria Warehouse Hotel.

Please note that the Masterclass events are ticketed events, separate to the festival. You do not need to be attending the festival to attend a Masterclass event.

In addition, sadly two acts are no longer able to perform at RADAR 2023. ten56. will be moving from Stage Two in place of Car Bomb, who are no longer able to make it over to Europe this summer. The festival also welcomes alternative metalcore band Resolve from France to take their slot on Stage Two. Further to that, the festival will bring London tech-metallers, and RADAR alumni, Harbinger, who have stepped up as Heriot have had to withdraw from the festival due to a scheduling conflict.

RADAR – the UK’s most exciting new progressive music festival – recently completed its 2023 line-up with the inclusion of synthwave heavyweight Perturbator, supporting Igorrr on the Saturday.

Perturbator joins a host of impressive names at RADAR 2023, including Friday headliners Sleep Token and Sunday headliners Periphery, Volumes, Haken, Loathe, Heart of a Coward, Dream State, The Callous Daoboys, and many many more.

RADAR 2023 will be held 28-30th July at Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse – a stunning new venue and one which promises to provide a truly incredible experience.

Following the sell-out success of RADAR 2022, the festival’s second ever edition (featuring Leprous, Haken, Dirty Loops‘ debut UK performance and many more), RADAR 2023 will be moving from Guildford’s Corner House to Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse, and will boast an internationally acclaimed 42-band bill.

RADAR capped their intensely impressive 2022 by winning the Best New Festival Award and the UK Festival Awards on 6th December in Manchester.

With their mixture of international talent and confirmed homegrown success, RADAR Festival has already positioned themselves as a champion of forward-thinking guitar-led progressive music. No genre boundaries, welcome to all, RADAR Festival was launched in 2019 to acclaim, with performances from Animals As Leaders, Agent FrescoRolo Tomassi, among others. Following the COVID hiatus, RADAR Festival 2022 expanded to three days with triumphant appearances from Leprous, Haken, Dirty Loops, Plini, Conjurer, Soen and more.
