Solitude Aeturnus: Into The Depths Of Sorrow / Beyond The Crimson Horizon, 2CD Review

Are you a fan of bands such as Cathedral, Hangman’s Chair, Lacrimus Profundere and alike? Then these 2 classic doom metal albums are for you. 

Solitude Aeturnus originally released Into The Depths of Sorrow back in 1991 and Beyond The Cromson Horizon back in 1992 and they haven’t aged a day.

Recovered from the deleted bin Dissonance are releasing them as 1 handy double CD digipak on the 23rd September 2022 and it would be daft of doom and stoner fans not to snap these up.

Solitude Aeturnus are underrated and often over looked in their genre. However Into The Depths Of Sorrow is often featured in the top 10 doom metal albums you should own. With this set not only do you get that classic album but you also get the follow up.

Beyond the Crimson Horizon is slightly more unhinged but a compelling listen. Check out Seeds Of The Desolate and you’ll see what I mean.

I actually prefer this album to the debut just because Robert Lowes vocals had grown so much since their debut (although they’re only a year apart). 

Both albums are absolute belters tho and deserve a place within your CD collection.
