Sophie Lloyd – Imposter Syndrome 2023

Sophie Lloyd (born October 22nd 1995) has been taking the internet by storm arising through pure talent and social media to become a force to be recognized. You may also be recognize her from taking the stage performing with Machine Gun Kelly’s Live band. Sophie, based in London, United Kingdom has been playing guitar since 2005 and has since collaborated with some monsters in the rock industry.

“I started playing guitar when I was around 10 years old after listening to Led Zeppelin in the car with my dad. Because I was a bit of an outcast, I had a lot of time to practise and this gave me an escape from reality, helped me overcome my anxieties and really gave me a sense of fulfilment.”

Collaborations include artists such as Trivium’s Matt Heafy, Atreyu’s Brandon Saller, Theory of a Deadman’s Tyler Connolly and the likes of Izzy Hale who joined Sophie side for the title-track “Imposter Syndrome”.

The album “Imposter Syndrome” features 11 tracks all featuring star guests and is due to be released 10th November 2023. My favourite track but maybe slightly bias being “Imposter Syndrome” synergy this track brings between Izzy Hale and Sophie Lloyds is just memorizing, however there are some notable shout outs to “Fall Of Man (feat. Matthew K. Heafy)” , “Pressure (feat. Brandon Saller)” and “Hanging On (feat. Lauren Babic)” featuring another up-and-coming notable name Canadian musician, Lauren Babic. Both ladies taking the stereotype “bedroom artist” and “Youtubers” to another level and showing the world ultimately how talented they really are.

The album boasts a rifftastic presence that will appeal to all rock enthusiasts with catchy rhythms and songs that you are likely to find yourself humming to yourself a few hours later. Although this music would not be my first choice I have to say I’m thoroughly shocked at how easy of a listen this album truly is. I would recommend 100% giving it a chance, I mean there’s nothing to lose and you gain the opportunity to see some fresh new talent that you might even enjoy! Imposter Syndrome by Sophie Lloyd is due to be released 10th November 2023.
