Syteria – Syteria World – CD Review

Syteria – Syteria World – CD Review

11th August 2023 0 By Jon Deaux

It’s been 4 years since Syteria has graced us with an album, and in Syteria World they’re back, bigger, better, and louder than before.

Syteria World is an album that is full of catchy, hook-laden pop-punk grooves. Tracks such as the opener Chasing Dreams will be stuck in your head for days.

There’s the incredible It Hit Me with their take on the Ska genre, and then there’s the proper pop track Debt Generation. Raise Your Glass is a firm favorite of mine along with the bonus track Talk Too Much as both are absolute belters and lyrically superb.

The last bonus track is their version of the Ramones classic Rockaway Beach. (Is it sacrilege to say I prefer this version to the original? In all honesty dear reader, I couldn’t give a rat’s ass)

The songwriting has improved. There’s a bit more social commentary (It’s A Mess) mixed with a little tongue-in-cheek (Couldn’t Be Bothered) and a call to arms (Pause For Peace)

In Syteria World  ‘It’s OK to not be OK and be pissed off, but let’s spend 45 minutes together and have some fun’
