Tremonti – The End Will Show Us How – Album Review

Tremonti – The End Will Show Us How – Album Review

12th January 2025 0 By McKenzie Jones

Tremonti is back with his 6th studio album ‘The End Will Show Us How’  following on from 2021’s incredible Marching In Time (You Can Read Our Review Of That Album By Clicking Here). For those of you unfamiliar with Tremonti, Mark Tremonti is the guitarist of rock band Creed and the current guitarist of Alter Bridge. As well as these, he has seen huge success with his solo project Tremonti.

I knew of him through his work in Alter Bridge but had never listened to his standalone work until ‘Marching In Time‘ was released. “Would You Kill” quickly rose to one of my favorite songs of the last 5 years and the album is one of my personal favorites from 2021.

Mark promises that each song on the 12-track album will all stand ‘unique from one another’ so I think its about time to take a listen and see if he delivers on this promise.

Opening up with “The Mother, The Earth and I” Tremonti brings their textbook sound to the very first track. It begins with a slow instrumental before kicking into the riff 30 seconds in not long followed by Tremonti’s vocals. In my opinion, Tremonti has some of the strongest vocals of anyone in the scene right now and this opening track serves as a reminder of that fact.

The lead single “Just Too Much” has everything you would need out of a lead single. Heavy as fuck drums, heavy guitar riffs, and an equally amazing guitar solo brings us into the final chorus. What I do love about his solo stuff is just how different it is. Of course, you can hear the influence of his other projects in there, but Tremonti has been able to stand it apart and not feel like he’s just attempting to go off and do albums that just sound like Alter Bridge or just like Creed.

It’s Not Over” Serves as the album’s first slower track and comes at a good point in the album to do so. The previous track “Nails” is heavy and having this slower track come in does help break up the album and show how versatile his sound can be across his records.

The title Track “The End Will Show Us How” Opens with an almost Polyphia-style guitar playing and carries on the slower pace from the previous track. Listening through the album for the first time, this was the track that really caught my ear and quickly became a personal favorite. I can imagine the chorus will be amazing to hear live surrounded by other fans. The song doesn’t stay slow for the entire length. It slowly brings the pace back up and kicks back into the heavier tone with its solo and a mighty final chorus which has stuck with me for the last few days after listening.

My love of “Would You Kill” from the last album should explain pretty easily why “I’ll Take My Chances” is my favorite song on the album. Tremonti are at their very best on their heaviest tracks and this song is no different. It did catch me off guard at first going from the heavy opening to stripping it back when the vocals come in but this doesn’t last for long and immediately goes back to being heavy.

I’m listening to the album again whilst writing this review and it is currently playing and I have to admit I am sat headbanging whilst trying to write. It’s safe to say the moshpits are going to be incredibly fun when this track is being played. I have to mention “One More Time” for this same reason that riff is so good and I am all for it. I wish we could have maybe got one more track on the album which was as heavy as these two are.

Closing out the album is the 6-minute track “All The Wicked Things“. This was the perfect song for him to close the album out on. His promise to deliver 12 different tracks was held up and this serves as a blending of the sounds we have heard on the entire album up until this point. We have the slower sections reflective of songs like “It’s Not Over” paired with the heaviness of “I’ll Take My Chances” and the textbook Tremonti sound found in tracks like “The Mother, The Earth and I”.

The album is an amazing start to 2025 and sets a high mark for anything I review for the rest of this year. Every track sounds different from one another. It’s the Tremonti we have come to know and he has truly cemented himself as someone who can stand separately from his other bands.
