Black Stone Cherry have announced a deluxe digital edition of their 2020 album The Human Condition

Black Stone Cherry have announced a deluxe digital edition of their 2020 album The Human Condition which includes an array of special bonus tracks.  The album is released via Mascot Records / Mascot Label Group and is available from today. The band will also begin a 16 date tour of the UK in September with the Kris Barras Band in support, starting on 9th September in Bristol and finishing on 29th September at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, London.

As the world plummeted into the COVID-19 pandemic, the four members of Black Stone Cherry were nestled deep in the woods of Kentucky, scrambling to complete their 7th album. There, they could feel the disease closing in as they watched the news daily, and it became apparent the album they were finishing featured lyrics that were eerily prescient. The resulting 13-track record is broadly emotive, and anthemic. It was finished just before the global lockdown was imposed, and it’s aptly titled, The Human Condition.

At the time of release they said, “there was a real urgency and fear of the unknown during those sessions—it was a scary time,” recalls drummer, John Fred Young. “Every song on this album tells a story of the experiences we all go through—our happiness, our struggles, and how we have to adapt.” Sonically, The Human Condition is also one of BSC’s most visceral and hooky albums. Adds guitarist/vocalist Ben Wells: “With this one, we cranked up the amps, the drums are in your face, and there are some really heavy riffs. After 19 years and 7 albums, we wanted to prove that we still kick ass. This album feels like a rebirth.”

The album has already amassed 30m streams and features the single Again, which itself has already had nearly 15m streams and is the bands’ first Top 15 hit on the Mainstream Rock Airplay Chart in the US since 2014s “Me and Mary Jane” as well as “In Love With The Pain,” “The Chain,” and “Ringin’ In My Head.” The deluxe release also includes songs from their Live From The Sky live stream show (“Again,” “Ringin’ In My Head” and “Ride”) and a Sirius XM live session of “In Love With The Pain” as well as two versions of Tracy Chapman classic “Give Me One Reason”, including their own muscular southern rock take on “Give Me One Reason (The Plug).”
