THE BREW – Control

1st February 2014 0 By Suzie Rottencrotch

THE BREW are back with their new album “Control”, to be released in February.  For fans of bluesy, psychedelic rock here’s something special, and more…

The band formed in 2004 and hail from Grimsby.  From their initial release “The Joker” the band have been hailed as the salvation of rock and revered for astounding live performances across Europe.  “Control” opens with “Repeat” and their reputation it seems is well deserved, with tight musicianship and flailing guitar work the band provide music of power, blues and yes the influence of the 70’s rock shines through in dripping abundance.

The album is straight forward and there within lies it’s honesty, offered for you to simply revel in.  The Brew have given an album of melodic hooks, balls to the wall rock and in these times that can only be a good thing. “Rewind” closes the album and it’s a stripped back affair  that builds up to fade away.  A perfect closer to a damn near perfect album.

Score: 9/10
