Doro – Raise Your Fist: 30 Years Anniversary Edition

24th April 2014 0 By Suzie Rottencrotch

Doro Pesch  has re-released Raise Your Fist as a special edition, this time including a bonus cd of covers and for the limited edition with a range of other goodies. Raise Your Fist was released two years ago and is her latest album, strange this has been released when the 30th anniversary of the first Warlock album Burning The Witches was released, but I guess it’s a show of the here and now and not the past. Raise Your Fist is a strong enough album that harks back to her earlier solo music and is a strong contender amongst her catalogue.

So the extra cd? – it’s a collection of covers and other versions of her material “Nutbush City Limits” sits slightly out of ilk, and “New York City Blues” keyboards are an eighties synth nightmare which would have been better as guitars, but the rest are more gems from the Queen of Rock. Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters” is here alongside Led Zep’s “Babe I’m gonna leave you
