LUCKY FOR SOME, BLOODSTOCK ANNOUNCES THIRTEEN MORE BANDS
5th June 2018BLOODSTOCK’s countdown is hotting up, with just 9 weeks left to go! There’s still plenty of exciting things to reveal about 2018’s event though, including this stellar collection of thirteen more bands you’ll be lucky enough to see, if you’ve snapped up a ticket!
Your support for BLOODSTOCK’s regional METAL 2 THE MASSES finals has been greatly appreciated, helping us continue to give a platform to up n’ coming, grassroots talent and bring the best to everyone’s attention at BLOODSTOCK! Without further ado, here’s the next batch of winners who’ll be appearing on the New Blood stage!
Friday welcomes Stoke champions VULGORE (www.facebook.com/The.beast.Vulgore), who’ve been described as “groove-laden melodic death metal”, Leicester victors & hardcore fans SEVERN HELLS (www.facebook.com/SevenHellsUK), and Scottish prog metallers TURBYNE (www.facebook.com/turbyneuk), who picked up a spot via their CD application.
If you’re at BLOODSTOCK on Saturday, why not check out Polish heavyweights ASHBORN (www.facebook.com/AshbornUK), who clinched the top place in the Milton Keynes final, and Hitchin winners 13 (www.facebook.com/13musicofficial)… no relation to Wednesday. Or if you prefer a bit of death metal and bands like Amon Amarth, Obituary, and Entombed, head over to see CD applicants, the West Yorkshire-based VALAFAR (www.facebook.com/valafarofficial).
Recently reformed and now champions of the Norwich final, metalheads CRAWLBLIND (www.facebook.com/crawlblind) join proceedings on Sunday. Also appearing that day, Burnley conquerors AUTOCRACY (www.facebook.com/Autocracybandofficial) could be your new favourites, if you’re a fan of bands like Machine Head, At The Gates, Parkway Drive, or Arch Enemy. But if you’re more into Orange Goblin, Pantera, and Kyuss, don’t miss Carlisle top dogs, DRUDGE (www.facebook.com/DrudgeUK), whose twin vocal layered approach might pay homage to the likes of Alice In Chains, but their doom/groove-soaked heart belongs to Sabbath-esque riffs.
BLOODSTOCK’s also pleased to announce four more bands joining this year’s Jagermeister Stage line-up! Dropping in on Friday are KAMIKAZE TEST PILOTS (www.facebook.com/kamikazetestpilots). Be sure to check them out if you like your Melvins, Corrosion of Conformity, or Clutch, with a bit of a twist. Iced Earth bassist LUKE APPLETON (www.facebook.com/luke.appleton.79) debuts his new solo acoustic tunes on Saturday, in support of his new EP released this March. If you need to pummel your hangover into submission that day, watch Norwich bruisers ALPHA OMEGA (www.facebook.com/alphaomegametal) dish out some no nonsense metal – just undiluted brutality, speed, and attitude in spades. Sunday brings Leicestershire’s DAWN OF ANUBIS (www.facebook.com/DawnOfAnubis) to the fray, who learnt their craft in a covers band before evolving into an originals act!
