QUIREBOYS’ FRONTMAN TO DEBUT FRANKIE MILLER/FREE SET
3rd June 2015Get ready for rock n roll history as one of the finest frontmen on the planet joins forces with a slew of famous friends to celebrate the music of Scottish singer-songwriter Frankie Miller.
Spike’s Free House brings together the face of the Quireboys, Luke Morley (Thunder), Mark Stanway (Magnum) and Simon Kirke (FREE) – who put the power into fabled blues rockers FREE.
Spike’s Free House will feature a set of Frankie Miller favourites and FREE standards as this all-star band breathes new life into two legendary back catalogues.
Already booked to play the 2015 Sweden Rock Festival with a string of special guests, Spike’s Free House will warm up for their big stage bow by playing exclusive show at The Borderline London on Sunday 7th June.
“I am delighted to say I’m in a position to realise a dream,” said Spike, who released 100% Pure Frankie Miller to critical acclaim in 2014. “The songs on that record had never been heard before and they need to be given the full live treatment.
“Simon and I are big fans of Frankie and along with Luke and Mark agreed we should get this show on the road. We kicked things off with the new single Fortune in February and we’re confirming a few small club shows and a very special release in the next few weeks.” 100% Pure Frankie Miller is out now via Cargo Records.
It was to be the first time in 40 years Simon Kirke and Andy Fraser played live together – reuniting one of the most famous rhythm sections in rock, that alas was not meant to be with the sad passing of ANDY FRASER in March of this year.
So this will be a celebration of Frankie’s songs, and in memory of the late, great Andy Fraser – RIP Andy.
