The Sophie Festival is back again and this year is going to be HUGE all for a great cause!

The Foundation was set up to create a lasting legacy to Sophie Lancaster, who was brutally attacked along with her partner Rob in Stubbeylee Park, Bacup, Lancashire and later on died  in hospital for the way she dressed , Sophie’s death on August 24th 2007.

The charity aims to raise awareness of prejudice against subcultures though campaigning and educational work.

They also work to have UK Hate Crime extended to include “Alternative Subcultures”.

The Foundation works in conjunction with politicians and police forces to ensure individuals who a part of subcultures are protected by the law. They now have 13 police forces across the UK recording hate crime against Alternative Subcultures and are working with more to achieve the same outcome.
They  work in primary and secondary education delivering group works and training to staff in schools, colleges and to those working in youth work and with young offenders.
We work in prisons and with young offenders.

S.O.P.H.I.E FESTIVAL now being in its  6^th year, each year growing ever stronger.

This year having those insane parody metallers Evil Scarecrow from Nottingham headlining the Saturday I’m sure Rebellion will be ran amuck with crabs and robots, trust me when i say this will be a night you won’t want to miss!

Sunday headliners being legendary Thrash metal heads Lawnmower Deth who draw large enthusiastic crowds with their entertaining repertoire, if your game for a laugh with comical lyrics thrown into your metal then be prepared for a great act!

With other eclectic bands thrown into the mix this 2 day festival in Manchester looks set to be their finest year yet, and the best part is they haven’t finished announcing the line up yet so keep your eyes peeled folks!
