What an amazing bookset & value for money this is.

5 Discs housed in a lavish box with a lovely book detailing the history of Shoegazing everything about this collection is impressive.

“Shoegaze” was a term invented circa 1990 to describe a new breed on UK Indie guitar bands. You couldn’t dance to these bands as it was something you had to feel & enjoy.

Great attention to detail has gone into this set. From not only including a few ultra rare & long out of circulation but there’s also tracks that are completely new to cd, like the 12″ version of A.R. Kane ‘Baby Milk Snatcher’,  but also forgotten classics such as Curve‘s ‘10 Little Girls’

This truly is a journey through the psychedelic, guitar driven indie scene of the late 80’s before it gave way to Blur, Oasis & of course Pulp but this is where it all started.

The music contained on these 5 discs speaks for itself & the lyrics contained within the boundaries of the song structures take you on a trance like journey of discovery.

This isn’t a perfect bookset compilation but it’s as close as you’re going to get for a genre of music that was more of a lifestyle choice for the disenfranchised.

This is a collection of music that is a part of history & what inspired bands like Nirvana, Sonic Youth & My Bloody Valentine & is an essential purchase.
