THE CROBAR IS SAVED! CROWDFUNDER SUCCESS ALLOWS LANDLORD TO START THE SEARCH FOR NEW PREMISES

13th May 2021 0 By John Deaux

The Crobar, the legendary rock ‘n’ roll establishment, has exceeded its £95,000 #crofund target, allowing landlord Richard Thomas to start the hunt for a new premises.

“Thank you! You have saved The Crobar!!!” says Richard. “We did it! Our Crowdfunder is now closed and we smashed it! Thanks to your generosity we have raised £98,595 and the hunt for a new premises has begun. From the depth of despair last July, we are now looking for a new venue, and it’s all thanks to you. Words do not begin to express how grateful we are for all your generosity, help and kindness, and all we can say is, from the bottom of our hearts, We Salute You!”

After reaching £70,000 in March of 2021, a new slew of generously donated prizes saw a fresh wave of donations, including original Pandora cartoon strips from artist Ray Zell, Crobar’s own branded coffee courtesy of coffeebeanco.co.uk, a Jägermeister machine and four bottles of Jägermeister, some very rare HIM test pressings signed by Ville Valo and a signed Joe Bonamassa guitar courtesy of Mascot Records. An extremely generous donation was also made by Manson Guitar Works, Matthew Bellamy and MUSE, who raised funds through the sale of a Simulation Theory Manson MBM-1 Meta Guitar signed by the band, bringing in a further £8,000.

The £98,595 raised secures a future for The Crobar, which aims to open in new premises next year once a suitable venue has been found.
