Xentrix – reunite to play their first gig in nearly 7 years
16th April 2013
Preston’s very own 80’s Thrash Metal Band Xentrix, have reunited to play their first gig in nearly 7 Years. Staying true to their Lancashire roots, they played at Moses Gate in Bolton England. Although Xentrix never gained global recognition, their biggest gig was when they opened for Slayer in 1991 at no other than Wembley Stadium.
Xentrix rocketed to fame in the late 1980’s following the highly coveted 5-K review from Kerrang magazine. This gained the band attention from the now legendary Roadrunner Records, enabling the band to live their dream and release 4 Albums. This then followed by the release of their 1996 Album “Scourge“, released on Heavy Metal Records, albeit without the original line up
Xentrix have shape shifted into different members throughout their Band Life however, they will be playing with the original Line up on this tour of:
Chris Astley – guitar/vocals
Kristian Havard – guitars
Paul MacKenzie – bass
Dennis Gasser – drums
All About The Rock hope to catch up and have a beer or two with them in Manchester on 27th April, where they will be playing the second of their 3 tour dates as special guests of Germany’s Teutonic Thrash legends Kreator along with our old friends Evile.
Xentrix have announced that they have new material in the works, so be sure to come back and check out our review and interview with the band.
All About The Rock recently featured a 10 questions with bassist Paul Mackenzie and can be seen here.
