The Move Looking On – Deluxe Edition CD Review

The Move Looking On – Deluxe Edition CD Review

14th May 2016 0 By Jon Deaux

Album number 3 from The Move has been given a full facelift this time in the form of the 1970 album Looking On.

As with the previous The Move deluxe re-issues so much love & attention to detail has preserved this release for all eternity.

Remastered from the original master tapes & sounding better than ever.

2 discs housed in a 4 panel case which also houses not only a double-sided poster but also a lavish booklet with a brand new essay written by Mark Paytress.

This was the album that was set to catapult The Move exponentially. The departure of vocalist Carl Wayne in early 1970 and the arrival of Jeff Lynne in the ranks (from the acclaimed Idle Race).

With Jeff Wayne on board the more complex the music became & this is no more evident on the track What?

Disc 1 contains just the one bonus track which is the b-side of single Brontosaurus.

Disc 2 is where the magic is. 13 tracks, 9 of them previously unreleased & there’s even a couple of rare interviews included.

A worthy purchase to replace the scratchy vinyl.

Released 27th May & available through at the usual outlets
