ONCE HUMAN REVEAL NEW SINGLE + VIDEO FOR ‘ERASURE’
14th January 2022Ferocious SoCal five piece, ONCE HUMAN have revealed a new video for ‘Erasure’, another track taken from their forthcoming album, Scar Weaver, which is set to arrive in stores and at DSPs via earMusic on 11th Feb 2022.
Frontwoman Lauren Hart tells us about the theme of new single:
“Erasure is a song about blood diamonds. It’s about the clear-cut, horrific message that a rock is worth more than a life to their producers. Although today there are human rights laws and regulations that have eased the violent unearthing of these stones, it is still happening in certain parts of the world. My heart broke as I dove into the meaning of why it’s called a “blood diamond”, and I felt compelled to tell its story.”
The Scar Weaver album represents a massive step forward for the band. Blessed (or perhaps cursed) with a surplus of time during 2020’s lockdown, the band have been able to refine and re-define their sound, inspired by a sudden creative surge from latest recruit, guitarist Max Karon.
The result is an gloriously idiosyncratic modern metal album, with Lauren Hart’s career-best vocal performance just one of its many impressive facets. With ONCE HUMAN’s most intense and explosive music to work with, the singer has pushed herself to new heights, showcasing a vastly expanded vocal range in the process.
In 2021, the band announced the forthcoming arrival of Scar Weaver with the release of lead single, ‘Deadlock,’ featuring a guest vocal appearance from Once Human guitarist Logan Mader’s former Machine Head bandmate, Robb Flynn. They followed this up with the singles, ‘Only In Death’ and ‘Cold Arrival’.
