I’ve been saying it for a while, but there is some amazing music coming out of India right now !
The latest group from the subcontinent to blow me away is a metal band from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, called Against Evil.
Their debut single, War Hero is a track of top quality metal that perfectly combines an old school vibe with a more modern sound. It’s heavy as hell, has some incredibly catchy riffs, and has a real “in your face” attitude to it. The band have stated they are influenced by a number of old school metal bands including Judas Priest, Accept, Megadeth, and Black Sabbath – and while you can hear those influences in War Hero, Against Evil have managed to create their own unique sound.
Listen to the whole single below –
These guys are clearly talented and Against Evil have produced an amazing debut here. It’s refreshing to hear a band playing the sort of good old straight forward metal that we all used to love – while also offering something new and exciting.
On the basis of War Hero,Against Evil have one hell of a bright future ahead of them. I’m eagerly awaiting their forthcoming second single, and the follow up EP which is due out later this year.
Awesome stuff !!
Score: 9 out of 10

I'm a massive fan of Indian horror metal band Albatross, so I've been following the progress of Primitiv with real interest - because the band features Albatross bassist Dr Hex / Riju Dasgupta. Previous singles 'Taurus' and 'Lords of Primitiv' were impressive, but with 'World War Zero' (the first single from upcoming…
